PT. KHI Pipe Industries is a member of Krakatau Steel Group and formerly known as PT Krakatau Hoogovens International Pipe Industries Ltd.  The  name changed to PT KHI Pipe Industries in 1994 after the taking over of Hoogovens En Staalfabrieken NV (Netherlands) and International Pipe Industries Corporation‘s (Philippines)  shares by PT. Indhasana  – since then  the company was owned by only two share holders which were PT Krakatau Steel (persero) the largest state owned steel company in South East Asia as the only remaining founder as well as majority share holder and PT Indhasana a national private company as a minority share holder. At present KHI Pipe Industries owned by two sharholder which are PT Krakatau Steel (persero) and PT Kertas Basuki Rachmat Indonesia Tbk.

The main activities of the company is to render  one stop services in production of  high quality steel pipes for oil and gas, as well as for structural uses together with corrosive protection services. The Spiral Welded Steel Pipe, High Frequency Resistance Welded Pipe and the corrosive protection applications such as External Liquid Epoxy Coating, Coal Tar Enamel Coating, Internal Cement Lining, Concrete Weight Coating, FBE coating, Three Layers Polyethylene Coating, and Three Layers Polypropylene Coating are produced in our integrated plants in Cilegon – Indonesia.

As the member of Krakatau Steel Group, KHI also offer a full package of steel procurement services by providing the other steel products such as rebar, section, H beam, plate etc  especially for projects where pipes also utilized.

To maintain high quality standards PT KHI Pipe industries implements thorough quality control and assurance procedures. International accreditation is also continuously conducted to ensure that our products and services meet international standards as well as customer requirements.  The API 5L certification has been obtained since 1977 and ISO 9002 management system since 1993. The most recent certification is ISO 9001:2000 obtained in the year of 2002.

PT KHI Pipe Industries is a member of Krakatau Steel Group together with the other nine subsidiary companies of PT Krakatau Steel which are PT Krakatau Wajatama, PT Pelat Timah Nusantara, PT Krakatau Daya Listrik, PT Krakatau Tirta Industri, PT Krakatau Engineering, PT Krakatau Information Technology, PT Krakatau Industrial Estate Cilegon, and PT Krakatau Medika. As a member of this group PT KHI Pipe Industries as well as the other member support each other and are able to utilize available resources within the group.
